Q. What makes the T-QUILTS pattern so easy to use?
A. There are many instructional websites out there for making t-shirt quilts, but most are either difficult for novice quilters to follow or don’t address how to properly stabilize the t-shirts. We get continual feedback from our customers that the T-QUILTS pattern has the most thorough and easy-to-follow instructions, along with a fool-proof pattern!
Q. How many T-shirts can I use in a quilt?
A. The pattern is based on 12” squares, but can be adapted to accommodate today’s larger designs on t-shirts. Using 12” squares, 9 t-shirts make an attractive wall-hanging. 49 t-shirts make a king size coverlet. If larger squares are used, fewer t-shirts are needed.
Q. How long will it take to make?
A. About an hour per square if proficient at sewing. There are necessary steps along the way that require some patience.
Q. How do I choose the fabric for the border and backing?
A. Fabric is a personal choice as to color and design. Smaller prints and no stripes work better. 100% cotton is recommended. Flannel will add weight to the already heavier fused t-shirts.
Q. What kind of fusing should I use?
A. There are many brands of fusing. It should be light to medium weight, not paper-backed, with adhesive only on one side.
Q. Can I re-use the pattern?
A. Yes! As many times as you need to. T-QUILTS offers the only pattern printed on a durable and transparent plastic sheet that can be used again and again.
Q. Does T-Quilts offer customer support if I get in a bind when making my quilt?
A. You are welcome to call the phone number or send an email with specific questions. We’ll do our best to help!
Q. Does T-Quilts make custom quilts?
A. We no long offer custom work, but can refer you to businesses that do.
